We require CNC setters/operators to participate in production setting and development of machining set ups to achieve optimum production and quality standards.   For this role you need to be able to Provide CNC setting for machine tools and processes, Facilitate machine set ups and prove process capability using SPC techniques, Implement and improve design of cell layout to achieve ‘lean manufacturing’ concepts,  Initial machine/process set up and capability proving and cell layout and Plan and carry out routine preventative maintenance. Your role will also be to Train production staff to run new processes and achieve required quality control standards and cycle time standard and therefore you need to possess excellent communication skills and you will also be expected to Improving cycle times, Improve housekeeping initiatives and take an active role in the development of new projects to the customer’s timing plans. For this role it is essential that you have qualifications relevant to the position, must have a working and technical knowledge of customer specific requirements/procedures, GDT, SPC, PPAP, APQP, PFMEA, QS 9000 and other tools used as required and have a high volume OEM automotive casting manufacturing experience is desired.

The Role
As Multi-Skilled Engineer you will be:

• As Multi-skilled Engineer you will be responsible for completing all preventative maintenance work on site on time and ensuring all records are completed and up to date at all times, ensuring unplanned downtime is kept to a minimum with regard to mechanical and/ or electrical failures.
• To ensure that all equipment is maintained to the manufacturers recommendations.
• To be proactive in detecting and diagnosing electrical and mechanical problems whether existing or potential on all equipment.
• To interpret engineering drawings and specifications when required to diagnose and resolve problems or when installing new equipment.
• To install or modify all existing equipment on site as and when required.
• To provide mechanical and electrical support and guidance to other Engineers as and when required.
• To drive and maintain forklift trucks working with external contractors, when required.
• To maintain factory servings very good order and ensure housekeeping around electrical substation and distribution panels are kept to the highest standard.
The Person
• You must be a fully experienced electro-mechanical engineer with a proven track record of having worked successfully in a similar fast moving continuous manufacturing environment using TPM and other preventative maintenance systems.
• You must also possess a recognised electrical and mechanical engineer qualification, such as HNC/HND or NVQ Level 3 or 4.
• It is essential that you also possess PLC programming experience and a proven training record.

The Role
• Interpret productions orders and work instructions.
• Ensure the correct programme has been selected and the required tools are installed.
• Select and position materials as specified in the production order.
• If issues arise work with the programmer to correct the problem and fix the programme if needed.
• Carry out quality checks to ensure the product meets required specification.
• Work safely by adhering to safety procedures and regulations to prevent on-the-job injuries.
• Maintain equipment by cleaning and maintaining machine, tooling and parts to keep equipment in optimal production condition.

The Person
• Previous experience using a CNC Machine cutting sheet materials preferably within the plastics industry;
• Good standard of literacy and numeracy;
• Excellent Attention to Detail;
• Able to follow written procedures;
• Excellent Verbal Communication
• Excellent Functional and Technical Skills;
• Able to work under own initiative and use their own judgement;
• Versatile with a sense of responsibility and enthusiasm;
