The role

• Managing the need of clients
• Liaising externally and internally
• Handling all aspects of accounts
• Audit
• Reporting directly to partner level
• Responsible for mentoring and supervising others

The person
• Must be fully ACA or ACCA qualified
• Ideally some practise
• Some general practise experience
• Ideally audit experience art a supervisory level

We are currently recruiting a high calibre Financial Controller to operate as part of the senior management team for our client based in Sudbury. The successful individual will ensure the effective provision of accurate, timely financial support to the business. 

The Company
Our client is an established family company who have been established since 1878 and are on of Europe’s leading importers and distributors of their products.

The role
● To control the operation of the general accounting function, the production of management and financial information and analysis and reporting on the commercial performance of the business
● Contribute to improving business performance in terms of profitability and cash generation through the continuous development of quality, meaningful and relevant (business) reporting
● Support the senior management on financial elements of strategic planning and decision-making support to ensure achievement of business objectives
● Take a leading role in the detailed preparation, analysis and provision of monthly financial results, annual budgets and periodic forecasts as appropriate
● Ensure compliance with internal controls and all regulatory requirements
●   Undertake ad hoc projects as and when required
●   Seek and implement continuous improvement in the business by
     proactively working with other internal departments on risk management
     and continual improvement issues
●    Satisfy all statutory and legislative financial obligations not limited
      to but including Payroll, VAT, Inland Revenue and Intrastat.
 
The person
● Preferably qualified ACA / ACCA/ CIMA with strong hands-on financial
   and management accounting experience
● Well developed commercial abilities and previous experience of setting
   up management information systems and processes.
● Previous exposure to SME companies is desirable
● An outgoing well rounded individual with excellent communication abilities
  and management skills
● A good understanding of Information Technology with a track record of
   using Accounting and Office applications.
●  Strong attention to detail and ability to see things through to completion
●   Experience of managing a small finance team and happy to work at
     both the Macro and Micro levels.
